What is a PAC?

A Political Action Committee (PAC) is a term for a political committee for the purpose of raising and spending money to elect and defeat candidates. The PAC's money must come from voluntary contributions from members rather than the member's dues treasury.

Why should I contribute to RPAC?
RPAC represents over 400,000 politically active REALTORS that members of Congress want as their friends. Recent legislative and regulatory successes include:

  • The continued preservation of the mortgage interest deduction.
  • Tax relief benefiting the real estate industry.
  • Improving federal mortgage programs, allowing more families to join the ranks of homeownership.
  • Eliminating burdensome regulations inhibiting environmental quality and healthy real estate markets.

How will my contribution be used?

Contributions to RPAC are voluntary, not mandatory and are used for political purposes. The minimum contribution recommended is $25.00; however you may give more or less or refuse to contribute without reprisal. 70% of each RPAC contribution is used by Georgia RPAC to support state and local political candidates and issues. The remaining 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates. A $99.00 contribution to RPAC qualifies you for the elite “99” Club; a $200 contribution qualifies you for the Capital Club.

Certain provisions of the Tax Act regarding lobbying expenses limit the extent to which your National, State and Local dues will be deductible. Estimated Lobbying Expense Percentage, NAR – 22%, Non-Deductible Portion; GAR – 15.52%, Non – Deductible (Total Dues Not Deductible for Income Taxes as a Contribution)

Are contributions to RPAC tax deductible?
No. Contributions used for political purposes are not tax deductible on your federal income taxes.
